Thanks. I had read in several articles in MetaLinks that Oracle was recommending a seperate listener under 8i and the articles specifically mentioned that this was a change from 8.0.

Right now I am dealing with intermittant ora-28575 errors. The wierd thing is that it works "most of the time". As I get deeper into the analysis I just keep running into so many different factors.

One thing I did notice along the way is that the version I am dealing with is 8.1.5.0.0. Since there is a 8.1.5.1.1 patch available I've made the strong recommendation that the database be upgraded to the latest patch so that we can at least eliminate any known bugs that have been resolved with the patches.
