Sure no problem, as long as it a separate instance and you have sufficient memory available. Usually the system tablespace shouldn't need to be bigger than say 50M

If you install OEM in a database used for other purposes you will be facing a catch-22 situation, as you can't shutdown the database by means of OEM, where OEM is living in. If you do so, OEM will become inaccessible.

The map is a 'gadget' only. You *really* don't need it, honestly. If you configure OEM normally by having it discover the services on the various nodes, it will provide you with a hierarchical tree of nodes, databases and so on, with *exactly*, I repeat: *exactly* the same functionality.
