Write Merge Yourself?

This has to do with Oracle Financial modules.

Has anyone written there own move or merge function?

We are interrested in taking ALL data in the database for one customer and moving it or relating it to another customer that exists in the database.

For example:

Let's say Company A buys Company B and now we need to move Company B info all underneath Company A.

Anyone write their own merge function or PL/SQL code to do this?

We know the Oracle Merge funtion comes with 10.7 but ours doesn't work and we can't get it to work so we thought we might just try writing this stuff ourselves.

I'd love to hear any comments.
