OK, now that you bashed Charles for asking a question, even though he titled his subject with the disclaimer 'newbie', how about something constructive.

You can expect that some of what was said in the other posts to be true. A five day class alone will not get you very far. I would recommend taking more classes. Check with oracle.com to select the career path that you want to pursue, and get into as many of those classes as you. Also, get a copy of Personal Oracle and load it up on your home system and start practicing. An alternative may be to take some night classes at a local College. You might be surprised how many offer Oracle now.

If you are currently working for a company that has oracle installed, check with the IS department and see if they could use some help. You may have to put in extra hours or whatever. If you do not have that opportunity at work, then you will need to network and see if you can perhaps find an intern level position. With luck, you might get a full time entry position. In the midwest, that would start you out around the low 40's if you have either a 2 or 4 year degree in computers or a related field.
