Re: how to drop a database ?

If dbassist doesn't work there are two solutions. The first one is assuming you don't want to create it again.

• shutdown the database cleanly
• remove the sid from oratab and the network files
• delete all the files pertaining to the database.

If you want to recreate it

- shutdown
- remove the controlfiles and the system tablespace
- startup nomount in svrmgrl (after connect internal of course)
- create database etc.
