If you have the gelt EMC is very effective disk.
Mirror and stripe and you can set up lots of partitions distributed over controllers and disks. Usually do not use Raid5.
The real performance advantages in these big EMC arrays is the huge cache, GBs of memory that speed both read and especially writes. I noticed at least twice the performance compared to some Sun arrays which had miniscule cache compared to 4GB cache on the 750GB EMC array.
NetApps I have used as file servers (NFS and pc whatever).
However, I am looking at a Hitachi SANS solution which is cheaper in cost than EMC. Anyone using Hitachi for Oracle?
