Too little informatino to really tell what the problem might be...

Did you update the client as well?
How are you getting from ADO to the database, with the OLEDB-ODBC bridge or are you using an Oracle OLEDB provider? If using ODBC bridge, which driver and what version? If using an OLEDB prover for Oracle -- whose and what version?
