I am not going to be much help, but I just typed ./runInstaller from an X-window in KDE. I get the same errors (refusal to connect) with a similar DISPLAY var. I changed the DISPLAY var to :0.0 and I get a new error now, "dump crashed" I can't get this SOB installed. If you get your answer, please e-mail it to me. Also, I will do likewise.
