Very good point. I forgot about that. I'll do it first thing Monday morning since I can't access that computer from here.

But there's one thing I didn't say in my last message. That same script runs perfectly as a cron job on another Sun box with very similar setup. And it only needs a run-time (not compile-time) environment variable ORACLE_HOME, not LD_LIBRARY_PATH or even ORACLE_SID or any other. That libctln.so file is also under $ORACLE_HOME/lib on that box.

Anyway, I'll try next Monday.
