Oracle 8.1.5 Enterprise
NT 4 service pack 5

Hi

I've managed to setup two instances and configure them with GLOBAL_NAMES=TRUE, setup and tested database links, created REPADMIN accounts and got the job_queue_interval etc set.

On using replication manager I can use the setup wizard to create two master sites. This all works well.

When I try and add a group to the master site I get an error:

BEGIN
*
ERROR at line 1:

ORA-23312: not the masterdef according to AR01.WORLD
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 86
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_REPCAT_MAS", line 836
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_REPCAT_MAS", line 1893
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_REPCAT", line 121
ORA-06512: at line 2

As far as I can tell its telling me that AR01.WORLD is not a master site! I know it is! How do I convince Oracle to recognise it as a master site?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please email me at alistair.thomson_at_sphinxcst.co.uk

Thanks

Alistair Thomson

PS I'd jump out the window to end it all but I work on the ground floor!
