Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.tools -> Oracle v7.3, OASv4.081, speed issues...
Hey all,
Been working on a medium sized web based intranet system for the past few months. Was working fine under Oracle v7.3 and OAS v2.1, namely it was fast. Now developing a second phase which connects the internal system to the internet. Due to the nature of the information being accessed I needed to have SSL. Of course Verisign in all their wisdom decided that they would not support Oracle (still find that hard to believe). Found another certificate organisation that do support Oracle, only one catch have to upgrade to OAS v4.081.
After a 150meg download I got it installed and configured (only took about 1 & 1/2 days!). Only problem now is that the speed at which it now displays the system is too slow. Lets say I have a plain web page. That displays nice and fast. On this page is a link to a another page that created by a PL/SQL package in the database. Click on the link and it takes about 30 seconds for the PL/SQL generated page to show. But then any other PL/SQL generated pages that are referenced are displayed pretty much instantly during that session. Then when I close the browser and start again, same problems occur.
Anybody ever come across that before? And if so how did you fix it. If nobody ever heard of it before, how about taking an educated guess. By the way it is running on Windows NT (unfortunate but they don't want Linux!)
Thanks in advance
