   I looked and in the 8.1.6 install I see the glogin.sql file you mention. Do you think the other files that used to be in the dbs folder have been dispersed and had their names changed?

   Interestingly the registry still points to the dbs folder in version 8.1.6 so created a dbs folder and creating a login.sql file to put in it works. That is SQL*Plus grabs the settings you have put in login.sql

   Does glogin.sql work as well? I'll have to try it.
