PROJECT TECHNOLOGY LEADER
UNIVERSITY SYSTEM OF MARYLAND

STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM PROJECT


 The University System of Maryland (USM) is currently engaged with Oracle
Corporation in a development partnership related to the creation of a new
Oracle product for higher education student information. Six USM
institutions are currently involved in a joint project to assist in
development and testing of the Oracle Student System. This system will
complete Oracle's Higher Education package of student, HR and Financial
administrative software. The Project Technology Leader, reporting to the
Project Director, will manage the planning for and potential implementation
of Oracle-based student applications, including recommendations on hardware,
software, and training; will manage the activities of the project's
technical development team; will coordinate the activities of campus-based
IT professionals; and will act as a consulting resource for member campuses
on Oracle technology issues for campus-based implementations.

QUALIFICATIONS: The ideal candidate will demonstrate progressively advancing
responsibilities in IT. He/She will have strong technology skills with
specific experience in Oracle development tools and the implementation of
Oracle-based HR or Financial Systems, preferable in a Higher Education
environment. Strong communication skills are imperative. Project management
experience and/or consulting background would be most helpful. BA/BS
required, advanced degree preferred.
