How to Insert document into LONG RAW column?

HI all,

We are using Oracle 7.3.4 on Unix.

We are looking at a new project that will store entire documents, pictures, objects in a LONG RAW column.

So, if you send me a number of documents, they will all be stored in the long raw column. One record for each document.

My experience with LONG, or RAW, or LONG RAW has been rather limited. I have not been able to do much with these datatypes from the Sqlplus prompt.

Does it have to be done via some front end tool?

Any ideas?
