Oracle 8.0.5 and RMAN

Our environment in Orale 8.0.5 under NT 4.0, sp5.

I have been running reviewing our backup strategy which basically consists of exports.

I am thinking of doing weekly or nightly cold backups but I am uncertain if I should do this via AT scehuler scripts or through RMAN.

For Oracle 8.0.5, are there any issue I should be concerned about with RMAN? 2) Has any one run into any notable issues with RMAN in general ? Or with archive logs?

3) Are there any issues with the REcovery catalog of RMAN?
