FROM DUAL?

Anyone know a good source of examples, tutorials or any other material
that may help me understand how it works. Also, is there any SQL
standard for FROM DUAL?, is it possible to transform it into standard
SQL (by creating tables, etc.).



Any help is appreciated.



P.D. is there any command like FROM DUAL for DB2?
