Hi,
I am a HP systems admin and at the moment i am hearing some worrying things from the DBA's here.
We are trying to setup a "single-point of failure tolerent" environment with HP ServiceGuard clustering at the backend (Oracle 8.5.1) and multiple redundant application servers running Oracle Application Server.
The worrying thing i'm hearing is that in this type of environment there has to be a "master" oracle application server, and the others won't function without it ... if this is true it means it's useless have mulitple redundant application servers as a failure to the "master" application server will mean none of them work.
Does anyone operate in an environment similar to the one i'm (trying) to explain and have experience in the strenghts and weakness of oracle application server?
And basically is this true or false?
