Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.tools -> Tuning Pack and defragmentation
Hello,
I'm trying to provide a solution to a client which the OEM Tuning Pack seems to provide.
On the Tuning Pack White Paper it says that it has the ability to perform Tablespace and object reorganization (page 26). It says that "If the database administrator wants to limit the impact of the reorganization on the production tablespace, she can optionally elect to perform the reorganization operations in a scratch tablespace."
My question is, can reoganization be done while the DB is on-line? If not, how can the down-time be minimized for this?
Any experience with this tool that you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Jose
