  1. Oracle Lite isn't available under Unix. It runs on windows platform with a special version of the ODBC driver, it won't interface against a normal Oracle database.
  2. It is a stripped down version of Oracle, mainly focused at mobile clients. You might want to look in Personal Oracle 8i, which is a standalone implementation of the full product. This version doesn't have distributed features, but that should be it. The most recent versions should run against Win 98. The win95 version already exists for some time.
  3. be aware there is SQL and SQL. Access supports the full SQL92 standard, while Oracle (and many other vendors) only support the entry levels. SQL92 statements will not run on Oracle, the reverse might also be true (never tried that because of the Access query interface.
