Does OEM need Agent on same node?

Just intalled 8i server and OAS on one NT machine (server) and OEM on the second NT pc (workstation). (latest releases)

The management server does not find any 'service' in the tree. It is possible however to connect the Instance Manager and Security Manager directly to the database. So, could it be that I failed to install the oracleagent (dbsnmp.exe) on the OEM node? However, I completed a typical install so why would this be a problem?

p.s. Would anyone have the time and courage to babysit me through the complete install and configuration of this cool stuff?
