proble with oracle odbc8.0.5.7

Hi,
I had a date corruption problem wherin months were becoming greater than 12 and years going all the way 8047. The solution that was given was to install oracle odbc driver 8.0.5.7. Now it seems that there is a problem with that to. We are developing an application in java 1.1.7B and using jdbc-odbc bridge . The problem with the new driver is that when we exit the application the connections dont get closed/released. We are using rogue wave class libraries for database access.
