Net8 Easy Config & Win98

I'm using Oracle v8.0.4 on a WinNT PC, but want to be able to connect to the databases from my Win98 PC. I have installed the Client Application User module and have followed the Ney8 Easy Config Wizard to create the service name to the remote database (via TCP/IP).

My problem is that when I test the service name I get a Illegal Operation, meaning that the service nameisn't created.

I have created it without testing the service name, but then when i try to make the ODBC DSN, I get a different fatal error.

Does anyone know if there is a Win98 patch to combat this error?? I know that this works on Win95 (I tried it myself) so it must be a Win98 problem
(someone else in my office had the same problem on Win98)

Thanks if you can help.
