Newbie Developer trying to DBA

I am finally able to connect to the management server with EM, but I cannot figure out how to make it detect my databases. I tried 'detect nodes' but I am not sure what I am supposed to be entering for a node name. I have an agent installed and running in my Oracle EM home, which was installed as a default. The agent is running, but I am not sure this is the agent for my DB. everything was installed with default values other than names,directories, etc.

according to the documentation when I start the Management console, it should automatically detect my DEMO database.

I would appreciate any assistance or directions to pursue.
