context cartridge and Oracle 7.3

Does anyone know where I can learn:

1. if the context cartridge will run with an Oracle 7.3.x server
2. if it can be used to speed up current application searches on a table contaiing a column of descriptions (we search for 1 or more words and'd or or'd for the search, i.e. find word1 and word2 , or perhaps find word1 or word2 or word 3
