sqlldr hangs only on my machine!

I'm having a problem with sqlldr.

I'm running the sqlldr from my machine and updating a database on a remote machine. I'm on windows NT with oracle 8.1.5

the sqlldr executes and finishes successfully, according to the contents of the log, but it never returns control back to the shell it was executed in... it just hangs there.

when i do the exact same thing from another machine with an identical configuration, everything works fine, and sqlldr exits.

it must be some issue with my machine or configuration, but i can't figure out what it is... i've minimized my paths , removed every other environment variable.. nothing.. i've no ideas.

help!!
