Some countries use this philosophy. They say why don't we buy one copy of software/video/CD and all share it! This keeps the cost down when, for example, it is spread over 1 billion people.

 Alas the stingy creator of the software/video/CD cries PIRACY! Personally I like the everything is FREE approach except I like to work for a living and get PAID for my creative efforts.
