Oracle Architecture

I am involved with a startup, and we are starting to pick an architecture for our applications. Does anyone know of/or have any documentation as to how someone else has actually implemented a Oracle solution on the web? I am interested to see details such as programming languages used, interfaces, implementation options, etc. I have searched most of the Oracle white papers, but have not found anything as of yet.

Any help would be appreciated.
