Databases applications are in high demand on the internet.
Amazon Bookstore, Excite, Egghead, Yahoo, e-Bay, American Red Cross, CNN Custom News
and several top sites use Oracle technologies.
You can use Mac (G3 is recommended) to learn PL/SQL (Oracle implementaion of SQL). SQL*Plus has the same capabilities across plataforms.
MS-Windows NT offers more features, although several of them are OS proprietary (ActiveX and other extensions).
Personal Oracle is a standalone database. It can replicate information with other
machines.
Most Oracle Server features are available in personal edition. It is widely used by
mobile users.
Oracle Developer, the most popular Oracle development tool, can be deployed on the
internet.
Oracle Designer (CASE) can generate complete applications.
JDeveloper, developed with Borland, implements Java and database technologies.
Oracle8i and Oracle Application Server are high scalable web servers.
