Can't Export--"unknown command..."

I'm trying to setup a scheduled export of a particular user.

But when I try to use export (or exp) from the SQplus command line, it replies:

  unknown command "exp" - rest of line ignored

I looked in the online help, and it said to run catalog.sql before the exp command can be used. I did that, but still I get the error message.

Any ideas?
