This is from the Oracle JDBC FAQ
(http://www.oracle.com/java/jdbc/faq.htm):
Q When will Oracle support JDBC 2.0? And when will we be supporting
JDK1.2, is that 8.1.6 ?
Yes. All our Oracle 8.1.6 drivers will be fully Java2 compliant,
including JDBC 2.0 support. Oracle 8.1.5 currently provides a subset of
JDBC 2.0 features. The support we provide covers structured types in
JDBC 2.0.
A JDK 1.2 version of the Thin Driver only will be available with
the Oracle 8.1.6 SDK.
