converting LONGs to LOBS in Pro * C

I have to convert my database to use LOB's instead of LONGS in order to do replication. However, I find almost no documentation on how to use LOBS in Pro*c. The examples given are a bit simple to be of any real use.

I there anyone who has experience with using LOBS to store, update and read binary data in Pro*c?

thanks in advance,
Paul
