Dell 6300 and Solaris 7x86 & Oracle8 (Help!)

I want to run Oracle8 on a Dell 6300 PowerEdge server running Solaris 2.7 (X86). I'm having problems getting the OS installed - lots of hangs. I also tried to go back to 2.6 and apply the DU3 driver updates, and the PERC driver update for 2.6. That was even worse than trying to just install 2.7.

2.7 hangs at various places during the install - 2.6 gets through the install but then can't find the disk, with or without the updated PERC Solaris SCSi driver.

Any clues?
