Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.misc -> How to install ORACLE ODBC driver on NT?
Hi,
I have a question about installing the Oracle ODBC driver downloaded from www.oracle.com/software/download.htm. Hopefully someone can help; thanks in advance.
My Oracle (8.0.5) runs on a sun box, and I want to access that sunbox from WInnt, hence I want to use ODBC.
I got:
Version 8.0.5.5 for OCI 8.0.5.0.0 & Net 8 Client 8.0.5.0.0
(ODBC Version 3.0) for NT (from the above site address).
When I take the downloaded package, and uncompress it, it says to use the 'oracle installer' on my PC.
*BUT* oracle doesn't run on my PC (its on the sun). So there is no installer on my PC... Any idea then how I can install the ODBC driver on my PC then? so I can talk to the oracle DB on the sun?
Thank you very much;
