I'm having a problem with Oracle 8.0.4 on hp-ux 10.20. When I shut down the server to apply new parameters to it during tuning, the system does not release the shared memory and I get an error saying no space left on disk. When I do ipcs, it shows the segments still there owned by the oracle user.

Rebooting is one way around this, but I remeber that I used to use a command that would release the segments, but I can't for the life of me recall it.

Does anyone know the command string to do this, or am I dreaming and the only solution is a reboot?

Thanks,
