Yes, in fact I was running SP4. We upgraded from 8.0.4 WGS to 8.0.5 EE and it seems that the problem vanished. We are currently running without any service packs.

After getting 100% under certain circumstances, the CPU didn't get down again, even after more than one day. The DB did keep working fine, but the overall performance was seriously commited.
