plsql and email

Hi,
I am running Oracle 7.3.3, and Oracle Web App Server 3. Using packages and procedures I have created a string of web forms which interrogate and update the database via the web. Now I am looking for a way to email
the results of a web form to a user from one of these web forms, in much the
same way as a CGI program might.
I would guess that I would need to access a shell, or server program from
a plsql procedure, but I am not really sure how, or even if it can be done.

Any help appreciated, thanks,
