Hi,
If I have a US7Ascii database... I could insert 8 bit characters..? the answer is Yes. In fact I had a databse 7.3.3. In which I insert names with 8 bit caracters (ë for example).. I create a 8.0.4 with US7ascii.... Export from 7.3.3 and import on 8.0.4 and my catacters are disappered or better translated in something else...
I ask to myself. Is there a way to export and import the caracters from
7.3.3 to 8.0.4 ?
If I set the NLS_LANG to we8iso.. and export import.. it works ?
Or I mistake to create the original databse on 7.3.3 .. with only
US7ascii ?
To much questions ?? But I think will be usuful for others too..
THANKs and .. Now maybe I will be able to answer to some questions in this newsgroup...
