DBA's and Developers,
I am starting a project to convert an access db to an oracle db. I have never used access and don't know the structure of the access db . I know oracle really well as I am a dba for 5 years  I know the structure of the oracle db. Oh,,,I have a week to do this! I just started this job too.

I would like to write scripts to put the data from access to oracle. Any ideas on the scripts. This is what I'm thinking...is it crazy.

  1. Dump the data from access to files.
  2. Write SQL scripts in Oracle to read the files and populate the database. Is this the correct way to go about this?

How do I determine the structure of the access db.

General comments are welcome and any warnings of problems I might have with access?

Thanks,
