I am experiencing problems with Oracle 8 in a client machine. All was fine
until I had to reinstall Windows 95. After that, I reinstalled SQL*Plus
(Net8) and Oracle objects for OLE. But now the machine won´t connect to the
database. First of all, after defining the service using the Net8 Easy Config
tool I tried to test the service using the Net8 Easy Config itself and it
crashed. Then I manually changed the tnsnames.ora file, but when I tried to
use SQL*Plus to connect it also crashed. I tried other applications also and
none of them would connect to the database. I even tried to remove Oracle and
install it again but I got the same errors. I have enabled SUPPORT tracing in
Net8 Assistant and it produced the following trace file (with sensitive
information deleted):

just before actually making the connection.
Can anybody out there help me with this ? Please send the answers to my e-mail
address also: wesleyerNOSPAM_at_NOSPAMhotmail.com (remove NOSPAM string).
Thanks for any help and sorry for the long post,
Wesley
PS: I´m using SQL*Plus 8.0.4.
