Personal Oracle Upgrades?

Hi All,
I have just discovered a bug/feature in my personal oracle 8.0.4 which I can't live with and actually makes it useless to me.
I have been advised that I need to go to 8.0.3 or 8.0.5, does that really mean that I have to bin my new purchase and buy 8.0.5? Thanks
Steve
P.S
Obviously, 8.0.5 could have a similar problem, but anyway it seems outrageous that there is no upgrade path - or is there?.......... P.P.S
If you bought a car and it arrived with square wheels, would you say "oh never mind" and buy another in the *hope* that the wheels were round?, the least you would expect is to be able to put new wheels on. --
