I am hoping this group will be able to answer this, or point me in the right direction. I have two servers running Oracle 7.3.4. The hostnames are different, but for admin purposes the databse SID's are the same. This is my first time setting up SQL-Net. I've been told that even though the hostnames are different, the fact that the SID's are the same , I will not be able to connect. I this really a true statement? Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
