LONG Datatype: How to Select from VB???

Hi,



I am developing an application at my office for which I need to
include the contents of some LONG datatype columns in the Oracle 7.3
database.  However, it does not appear to be an easy task to be sure.



I understand the LONG column data could be converted (up to 32K of it)
to a CHAR column.  Is there any other way?



Any advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated!!!
