Beginning Oracle - Oracle Press
This is the first book that I purchased when learning Oracle. It's not the best book, but it is a good start to cover the whole Oracle picture in a short amount of time. Do a search at Amazon.com for a more complete description.
After this first book I purchased the following:
Oracle Certified Professional DBA Certification Exam Guide - Oracle Press (99.99)
Oracle8 - The Complete Reference - Oracle Press (59.99) (This one book I use the most in my coding efforts with SQL and PL/SQL - Programming Language SQL. Well worth the price).
Oracle8 PL/SQL Programming - Oracle Press (44.99)
Oracle8 Architecture - Oracle Press (34.99) Oracle8 DBA Handbook - Oracle Press (44.99)
Oracle8 Backup & Recovery Handbook - Oracle Press (44.99)
Oracle8 Tuning - Oracle Press (44.99)
Oracle8 Advanced Tuning & Administration - Oracle Press (49.99)
Exam Cram - Oracle DBA Test 1 and Test 2 - Published by Coriolis (29.99) Exam Cram - Oracle DBA Test 3 and Test 4 - Published by Coriolis (29.99)
You can get up to 3 Oracle books for about $10 plus shipping and handling if you sign up to one of the following book clubs (or both as I did to save money):
1.) The Library of Computer & Information Sciences
2.) The Small Computer Book Club
Both found at: www.booksonline.com
