MS-SQL has a date only and a datetime field (they call it a datetime and smalldatetime) one field type stores just the date and the other stores the date and time. The date and time obviously taking up more space than the date alone. Does Oracle have such an option as date only without time. From my understanding the oracle date field holds both date and time. If it does not, does anyone know if it wastes space if you don't need to store the time in the date field. Or if you have any related suggestions or informations please let me know.
