Specifying Net8 in connect string

Is there a way to specify in a connect string that you want to use the Net8 services? For example, if I'm connecting to an ODBC datasource, I prefix the connect string with ODBC:.

I'm struggling with using Developer 2.1 against a Personal Oracle 8.0.3. The lsnrctl80 is giving me a GPF when the start command is issued.
