I recommend the book "Oracle Database Construction Kit" by John Palinski, published by QUE Corporation. Great tutorial, lots of examples with solutions, shows you step by step how to build a sample database. You will need a copy of Personal Oracle 7 or 8 to run the examples from the CD.
