Hello,
Although my software development team creates applications for SCO Openserver 5 and not Unixware 2.1 or 7, we have had similar disappointing experience trying to obtain availability information for Oracle products. As you said, the Oracle Web site does not really mention support for SCO platforms, but as we both know, various Oracle products ARE available for SCO Unix. We have had some luck contacting Oracle directly, but unfortunately, the responses we have received have been many and varied. One individual told me last week that Developer 2.1, OWAS 3.0, and Oracle 8.0.4 are all available for SCO Openserver 5, while another person in the Alliance Division informed me that only older versions of the web server and database server are available. However, this last person mentioned something that might be of interest to you (and perhaps others), namely, that Oracle 8.0.4 is already available for Unixware 7 or at least is in the works. I'm sorry I do not remember exactly which, but it might be a good idea for you to call Oracle to find out. Or perhaps there are some nice Oracle people out there who follow this newsgroup and might be able to answer with confidence our questions about Oracle product availability for the various flavors of SCO Unix? Anyway, good luck!
Cary
