Future of Oracle rdb

I'm new to using Oracle rdb. I'm wondering what the future plans are for
this product. Will it merge with Oracle 8? Will it continue on it's own
path?



I've tried to look at www.oracle.com, but the newest news about the
future of rdb seems to be from January.
