Upload files with Web Application Server 3.0

I'm using Oracle Web Application Server 3.0. I want to give the users a possibily to upload files to the server (in a given directory). Together with a uploaded file, I also want to create a record in an Oracle table, with information about filename, date, who etc.

Is there any way to do this?
Is Perl a good solution. If so, do anyone have a good Perl-script to doing this?

I'm using Sun Solaris on Sparc or Intel.

I don't want to save the file in a Oracle database.
