Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.misc -> Domino to Oracle transition [newbie]
Hello!
I currently use Domino [Lotus Notes] for developing internet-based applications. All user interfaces are presented via a web-browser using forms/CGI and/or Java applets, thus no [application-specific] client software on the desktops of users. I also run agents on the servers to manipulate data periodically, and for some network file-transferring, etc. Most are a just a few lines of Lotus Script calling a .dll
I am looking for some guidance in selecting the appropriate Oracle product(s) to serve as a foundation for the general scenario I've described above [and perhaps a few links to online reference material]
BTW: It would be especially desirable if a Linux version of the appropriate Oracle product might possibly be forthcoming...
I understand that it will be necessary for me to learn a great deal to make the transition, and accept that burden.
I won't go into the reasoning behind my desire to switch from Lotus to Oracle, as I'm sure I'd be 'preaching to the choir' in this forum.
Many Thanks!
David F. Wimsatt, Jr.
